In Honor of Moms
I love my mom, even though she doesn't read my blog anymore ("I don't have time to read your internet journal, Missy. You call me everyday anyway, so you can just tell me what you want to say then!").
Four year ago, my mom went back to work, and she has been balancing her job, home and my little brother and his dog ever since. She's an artist, too, and her artwork adorns the walls of our home. Everything she does, she does for my sister, brother and I. I really admire her, and I hope one day, I will be as awesome as she is.
In honor of my mom, I have two links for you. The first, Postcards from Yo Momma, has been featured on here before. The blog is a collection of the best Momisms sent through the web.
The second is a video of a short film by John Roberts and Clay Weiner. It's about Mother's Day from the perspective of a New Jersey/Long Island mom. My mom has never quite been like this, but the character is very familiar. ;)
I tease my Long Island mom because I love her, brash wisdom, Momisms and all!
